Assistant Branch Manager
Job Summary
The Assistant Sales Center Manager is responsible for assisting the Sales Center Managers in managing sales and operations at one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carry multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies. The ultimate goal of this role is to function as acting Manager in the absence of the Sales Center Manager and successfully manage the daily operations of all facets of the Sales Centers.
Essential Duties/Accountabilities
- Represent Baker as a leader in the industry ensuring maximum sales and profitability.
- Interact with customers, outside salespeople and vendors.
- Supervise all functions of counter and telephone sales in a professional manner; including pre-lien information, warranty return items, labor claims and freight claims for missing or damaged equipment/supplies.
- Schedule all incoming freight and order supplies for resale.
- Schedule prompt and efficient delivery orders to customers; including the coordination of crane appointments for equipment.
- Provide accurate selling prices of equipment and supplies in Company software to ensure proper margins.
- Update, verify and approve customer price exceptions.
- Help determine and monitor inventory stock levels and assist in managing merchandising of sales showroom.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, safety and repairs.
- Assist in training Sales Center personnel, direct supervision of Warehouse personnel and function.
- Assist Sales Center Managers with all Company reports and reporting processes; assist in the supervision of customer credit limits, account receivables and control of credit extensions.
- Conduct him/herself in a professional and courteous manner in all aspects of interaction with contractors, customers and employees.
- Assist in coordinating Center training and Company/Center events.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to management.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions and drills.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow all guidelines for the safe operation of equipment and vehicles.
- Maintain a professional and safe demeanor during all customer and employee interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent, such as a General Education Development (GED) certificate, is required.
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with HVAC equipment in a wholesale distribution setting.
- Background in sales, operations, purchasing, or inventory management is considered desirable.
- Mechanical or technical experience is considered a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in continuous learning, mentoring, and leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.
- Assistive technologies may be used to support this function.
