Job Summary 

The Commercial Sales Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial projects, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with various departments to ensure competitive and profitable pricing. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. 

Essential Duties/Accountabilities 

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other related expenses. 

• Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals in response to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and RFQs (Requests for Quotations). 

• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements. 

• Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality. 

• Work closely with sales, project management, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements. 

• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project profitability and success. 

• Communicate with clients to clarify project details, address concerns, and provide updates on the estimation process. 

• Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activities to maintain competitive advantage. 

• Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project documentation for future reference and analysis. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. 

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial estimating, preferably within the industry. 

• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project). 

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. 

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. 

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment 

• While performing the duties of this position, employees will work in office environment. 

• Must be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time. 

• Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and RF scanner for prolonged periods of time. 

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
